Founder & Lead Guide of Cirque Running & Golden State Guiding
Ryan’s athletic and coaching journey started well before his career as a business owner in the outdoor space. From an early age, athletics were a large part of Ryan’s life, participating in multiple group sports, but excelling in basketball. These athletic activities were formative early on in life and have been the foundation of a lifelong pursuit of endurance activities in all forms of adventure.
Trail running is different for everyone and comes in all forms of enjoyment. For many, the simplicity of walking out your front door, or taking a short drive to the trailhead with nothing more than a pair of shoes, water, and maybe some fuel, is therapeutic and all that is needed. For others, trail running is specifically connected to personal goals, whether that be races, or large objectives, like Rim to Rim in the Grand Canyon. For many years, my pursuit of trail running was a blend of these two, while I admire and love the race aspect and community of ultramarathons, my personal drive has always been towards achieving peak performance for my personal pursuits.
