UESCA Certified Ultra Running Coach

With a passion for endurance sports, Kory brings years of experience in ultra running, rock climbing, and coaching to help athletes hit their goals. Starting as a young runner, he has competed in some of the toughest ultra races and knows what it takes to go the distance—both physically and mentally.

Before coaching ultra runners, Kory served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he gained experience in leadership, training, and building mental toughness. This background shapes his coaching style, which focuses on consistency, strategy, and mindset to succeed in endurance sports.

Alongside running, Kory has been climbing for nearly 20 years and has traveled around the world to pursue the sport. As a professional routesetter for competitive climbing, he’s designed challenging routes and honed his understanding of strength, technique, and mental focus—all skills that transfer to ultra running.

As a UESCA Certified Ultra Running Coach under Jason Koop, Kory uses a science-based approach to endurance, race strategy, injury prevention, and mental preparation. Kory has embodied the process too, with podium finishes in marathons and half marathons, top-ten finishes at the 50k and 50 mile distance, and multiple 100k and 100 mile race completions.

Whether you’re working toward your first ultra or aiming for a personal best, Kory offers a tailored coaching plan to help you build endurance, improve performance, and achieve your goals. With Kory’s experience and approach, you’ll be prepared to take on the physical and mental challenges of ultra running, one step at a time.
